There are, for example vapes and flashlights using 18650 and other cylinder cells at 3.7

But much like the micro USB, the cheapo electronics import industry hasn’t caught up and it’s much cheaper to buy a AA housing vs a cylinder one

Plus your average dad’s never heard of em
