Does it affect their life span? Is bamboo enough to satisfy their nutritional needs?

It began as a simple adaptation to their environment; it’s easier to access bamboo, and it provides the protein they need.

Over time, their traits started changing; once able to *taste* meat, they no longer have the umami receptors (taste buds specialized to sense meaty, savory flavors). So, bamboo tastes good, and they have no interest in meat.
