eli5 Why do Romance Scammers often use soldier’s profiles to make victims in social media more like any other occupation?

The intriguing thing is why they choose soldiers rather than other occupation like a scientist, a model, a businessman or a doctor which could theorically attract a wider range of victims?

I’ve had someone from an oil rig and some business man. But most are from the military. I had one call himself Dr. Corona and he was a military doctor 😂
