I saw a video once of how a razor blade starts getting dull after just one shave. It doesn’t seem like it should be the case if it’s literally just cutting hair.

Not seeing this really mentioned but the primary cause is bacteria.
Rinse your blades in alcohol after you shave (or dry them thoroughly like someone else said) and they’ll start sharper much longer
