The reason your nose runs in the cold is different to why it runs in the heat.

Cold weather makes your nose run because the cold, often dry air causes your nasal glands to produce more mucus to protect the inside of your nose.

A rapid elevation in temperature can cause the membranes inside your nose to swell, once again causing your nasal glands to produce more mucus.
