Eli5: Why do we say “ouch(or any other words)” immediately after feeling pain?

Does it reduce the pain? Or is it because of the experience of watching people react like that before? Or is it something different from my guesses?

If I had to take a guess I would have to say that it’s probably just to allow other people to know that we’re in pain and that there’s possible danger around animals basically do it too whenever they get hurt they make sound of distress or they let out second smells to allow other animals in their species to know that there’s danger but we as humans have evolved to be able to speak so we’ve just developed words to use instead of sound but some people do still just scream whenever they get hurt
