Like suddenly for no reason, why do I need to scratch here or there ?

Science isnt really sure! We know that being itchy reads the same in the brain as pain, just on a far lighter scale. We think that because bugs, or plants, or snakes can make us sick, we learned to get them away as fast as possible through evolution to prevent injury. So we think when we randomly get itchy it may be our own hairs on our skin or our clothing hitting those same nerves that scan for pests and therefore we scratch. But we’re not super sure.
