Alcohol-drug interactions. You’re not actually feeling more drunk, you’re feeling the effects of the interaction between the alcohol and the nicotine in your body.

because you’re using downers and uppers at the same time.

if you were to just drink you’d be on downers. this’ll make you groggy, drowsy, sleepy, maybe irritable. that sort of stuff.

if you smoke/vape nicotine on top of it then you’re using uppers. nicotine is a stimulant. this’ll make you more up, so you will talk and engage more.

the combination of *doing more stuff* while *you’re drunk* just makes you *appear to be more drunk*. not that you’d present sober quietly slurring words lurched over in a chair, but people would likely notice you less.
