As the title states? Why does the fob emit signals far away when it is attached to our head?

The fob doesn’t change what it does. But your skull reflects radio waves a bit, and so it acts a little like a parabolic dish does to focus the radio waves. For best results, tilt your head back and put the fob under your chin.

Bringing it “close” to your head doesn’t have any real effect, other than the fact it means you’re probably holding it higher up, and so there’s less “stuff” like other cars between the fob and your car.

But physically touching the fob under your chin really *doe*s increase it’s range. The type of signal used by most car fobs happens to be just right to be able to use your skull as an extended range antenna.
