There is a much more elaborate answer but the concise version is that these are limitations of the PS1 graphics hardware. What you’re seeing is that the hardware lacks the ability to take perspective into account when drawing a triangle with an image mapped to it, and the wobbly vertices are the result of numbers being rounded instead of having more precision.
