If you live on the equator the sun goes from the east to the west directly above you. Neither to the north or south.

If you live in the southern hemisphere the sun goes from east to west, but generally north of you. The further south you are, the further north the sun is.

If you live in the northern hemisphere the sun goes from east to west, but generally south of you. The further north you are the further south the sun is.

Most of the day, the sun is in the southern part of the sky in North America, Europe, and most of Asia.

Is this a real question? If you live in the northern hemisphere sun mostly comes from the south and visa versa in the southern hemisphere.
