Wait what.. tinfoil doesn’t feel good on the teeth ?

I’ve never known that ’cause.. who has tinfoil in their mouth for any reason ?

Who has tinfoil? Where do you get it? I never seen tinfoil in any home or store.

Galvanic reaction.

Two different metals combined with an elecrolyte solution create an electrical current. So aluminum + metal fillings + saliva = current.

Omg just reading it is making me shake.

Remember the juicy fruit foil? Try grinding that between your teeth? Ooooh I can feel it.

And cotton, I can’t touch cotton balls for the life of me. I’d rather hear the knife screech across the plate or nails down a chalkboard.

What did I just do?….

dental hygienist here- it’s actually got it’s own term-galvanism. And like others have said, is a reaction between the two metals, likely from amalgam (silver) fillings creating a small electric current. This (although rare) can sometimes create a serious reaction and cause damage, so I would recommend avoiding chewing foil if possible.

Tinfoil + dental fillings = weak battery.

Stick a 9V battery on your tongue, exact same thing (but a much stronger shock).
