Eli5: Why does weather generally move west to east

**prevailing winds** moves moisture and varying temperature air.
warm pacific ocean air moves over colder mountains, then dryer deserts, then mixes with warmer wet air from gulf or cold wet air from great lakes. every time there is a mixture of hot/cold cold/hot wet/dry dry/wet there is a chance of changing weather
and as to why the prevaling winds just happen to move west to east – rotation of the earth
Jetstream. We have this thing called the Jetstream that’s always going in a circle around the north pole. It then causes all the other air to spin with it. When it’s cold it’s bc the Jetstream lowers, letting hold air in, and when it’s hot, it’s bc the stream is closer to the pole.
It’s a stream of air flowing through the sky at high speeds.
