ELi5: Why does YouTube seemingly have more music content than ITunes or Spotify?

There’s a tone of remixes on Youtube that don’t make it into Spotify or ITunes or other major streaming services. Is There some kind of copyright reasoning behind this?

I don’t think it’s a matter of copyright, but really a matter of convenience. Getting a track onto Spotify or Apple Music is a lot more onerous than uploading a track to YouTube. If there’s some remix that’s just great, a thousand people are going to share it on YouTube, but the original mixmaster may not have the resources to add it to a platform that wants clearances and paperwork to be in order.
