Piercings and tattoos, I mean. Wouldn’t it be easy if we just applied anesthesia? I don’t know if there’s a reason why, but I do wanna know.
*Also, why isn’t anesthesia applied for IUD insertion?

It’s not quite the same thing, but you can use topical numbing agents like lidocaine/lignacaine. I’m guessing they don’t use that for tattoos though as the effect is fairly short lived and the tattooist isn’t going to want to risk rubbing stuff into the worked areas.
