Someone or company is selling their product/service, why can’t the government go after these people? Seems easy-peasy.

Lack of political will I suppose. I live in EU-Europe and these things don’t happen here. Sure there’s the occasional (every few weeks/months) scam call on the landline since that number is in the phone book, but overall it’s a non-issue. Also those scam callers are usually local.
