Why can’t we dump it into a volcano or yeet it into space? Or for that matter, if it’s still radioactive, doesn’t that mean there is still more juice we could squeeze out of it?

Nuclear “waste” is just untapped energy. It’s not as efficient so they store it up. Will be useful when society collapses and we need an energy source and don’t care if it’s less efficient.
