eli5: why is the NASCAR Camaro so good at Le Mans compared to LMGTE?

I was on Porsche curves and the GTE’s look planted through there in comparison, the NASCAR was just thrown in by the drivers and it kind just… kinda stuck… Massive Tyres providing alot of grip, but as JB said, they didn’t expect to be THAT competitive, it’s just a shame they had a transmission issue that took them out the game for a bit.
