Eli5- Why isn’t everything upside down when your in the South Pole? How come we feel upright despite living in the globe earth?

Sorry if this is an incredibly dumb question. I remember it having something to do with the size of earth and gravity?

Down is the direction gravity is pulling you in, so on earth down is towards the center of the earth, the fact maps and globes normally have North at the top and south at the bottom is just a convention, you can turn them upside down and it’s just as accurate.
