Baby shampoos use ingredients that are less aggressive in cleaning power than regular shampoo which allow them to be less damaging to eyes. The downside is they don’t clean as well and are generally more expensive. I’m sure there are some adult shampoos that are formulated to be gentler like baby shampoos.

You can buy baby shampoo for yourself. You don’t need to follow what’s advertised. They are just more expensive because they use more expensive ingredients that sting less.

PH balance in baby shampoo is closer to that of the eyes than adult shampoo. Trade off for the PH difference is it dries out your hair very quickly. Which is why adults tend to not use it.

I’m an adult who uses Mustela baby shampoo because I have eczema and it reduces irritation on my scalp which means less dandruff.

Cosmetics and household chemicals aimed for adults are irritating when used in a wrong way – consumed or rubbed into eyes or mucous membranes. That is to discourage wrong usage because there’s no one to supervise adult users.

While adults usually look after children, and stuff aimed for kids can have pleasant taste or smell or be less irritating because there are parents there to control the use of it, and it’s less uncomfortable for the child.

I use my great grandma’s baby recipe. A bay leaf is the secret that may or may not get passed down to the next generation depending on the plumpness of the babies in the family.
