According to the [Oxford Learner’s Dictionary](https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/the-augustan-age#:~:text=The%20name%20comes%20from%20that,a%20classical%20period%20of%20literature), it is named after the Roman Emperor Augustus
