Any properly ran cloud storage provider will either have zone back ups or regional backup or a combination of both that are constantly replicated. I’m sure google has the means to do that

No they have disaster recovery planners. So if a building like a bank tower with servers drops all the data is reconstructed at a backup site somewhere else. Others have said it can’t be lost, but they aren’t perfect and these things often go wrong and lose and corrupt data. Overall your pictures are probably safe.
