eli5: Will it autually be safe to stay in a helicopter in the air while there is a earthquake?

Yes the helicopter is staying in the air by throwing air down, it is not pushing off the ground. If the ground where to move or even stop existing then nothing would happen to the helicopter so long as it can move enough air down to counteract it’s weight.
