You’re referring to “radio frequency interference”, or RFI. Radio frequencies of any wavelength absolutely can. All those cheap “wall wart” style adapters and chargers in everyone’s house? They are largely unregulated and have been causing havoc to radio communications equipment for many years, as they emit high frequency waves. The same thing with other inexpensive electronic goods. I’ve seen everything from treadmills, to TVs, to neon signs cause problems. As for what happens, nothing blows up, but it can block, or cause interference with two way communications mostly.
All the cheap electronic junk that people buy from China is very poorly made, more often than not. They claim to meet FCC part 15 regulations, but enforcement is extremely lax.
