I disagree with the other comment!
There are two problems here: how do birds migrate thousands of miles every year and come back to the same place, and how do birds come back to the same nest every day.
To the first: you know how compasses can tell you which way is north? Birds basically have compasses built in, and evolution tells them to go south/north correctly. Additionally, many birds migrate for the first time with older birds, who show them the way!
To the second: birds are a lot like us! If you’re out. in your town getting groceries, you probably remember how to go home. Same idea for birds out collecting worms :).
