Why is it so hot in the middle East even if it’s night the hottest temperature this week will be 41° and the coldest 24° but at night it’s about 32°

So the land absorbs thermal energy all day as it bakes in the sun. At night it radiates the heat back. This is why it’s coolest in the morning.

A good test is to feel the heat coming off of asphalt, then sand, then goto a shaded area.

One way to reverse desertification is to create areas where plants can absorb the heat this allowing the soil to retain more moisture. This create a chain reaction which ultimately ends up building forests and cooling the planet off.

People always tend to think about air temperature because that’s what makes you uncomfortable but that isn’t what keeps an area warm at night.

Air tends to cool quite rapidly because it doesn’t absorb a lot of heat. It’s the ground, the asphalt, dirt, and rocks that absorb a lot of heat during the day that keeps the area warm at night. Water also absorbs a lot of heat as well, which is why the oceans are so good at moderating the temperature of the planet.

Once the sun goes down the ground radiates heat and warms up the air and keeps the ambient temperature high.

This is also why things cool down so fast in the winter. When there’s snow on the ground the white color reflects sunlight instead of absorbing it. Since the snow doesn’t absorb heat like the asphalt or ground does it keeps the ambient temperature much cooler.

That’s also why in spring you see the concrete melt the snow so much faster, as soon as any concrete is exposed it will absorb a bunch of heat energy and melt the snow on top of it.
