How animes are made?

All animation, including 3D ones, goes through what is called storyboarding. Where they make initial hand draw sketches of scenes from the story. Long story short, they finalise those and translate them to what you see. Computers make this process easier, although some do stick with the traditional hand drawn animation.
It’s easier if they have source material like the Manga. If not, they will have to do it from scratch.
There are illustrated comics called mangas in Japan, a studio takes those stories and turns it into a show. (Note not all the time but like 95% of the time)
