How are countries like Norway and Switzerland not so densely populated considering the fact that they are portrayed as nearly heaven in all aspects?

I grew up in Estonia. I imagine the weather in Norway is not much more pleasant. Majority of people just plain don’t like cold or long winters. Seasonal depression is a thing. I would imagine weather is a huge factor for Norway. Can’t speak for Switzerland, never been there.
