How are dumbholes (Sonic black holes) created?

I was reading about black holes, and because research on those is really difficult (and dangerous), physicists use dumbholes to be analogous to black holes.

**”Dumb holes arise when fluids flowing faster than the speed of sound form regions that trap sound waves. They too have a surface of no return — the “acoustic horizon”. While black holes remain interstellar objects, researchers can create dumb holes in a laboratory.” -** [https://www.upi.com/Science_News/2002/02/01/Scientists-study-black-holes-made-in-lab/20451012615082/](https://www.upi.com/Science_News/2002/02/01/Scientists-study-black-holes-made-in-lab/20451012615082/)

FYI research on black holes isn’t really dangerous, just impossible. If we could create a black hole in a lab it would be dangerous, but we can’t do that.
