How are religions different than mythologies?

1.13K viewsOther

Only difference I can find is that there are people who “believe” in religions but almost everyone knows mythologies are just stories. So why don’t religions have the same treatment? They’re essentially the same thing, stories about people who may or may not have existed.

There’s no real difference, at least from my perspective as a pagan. “Religion” is just a mythology that you personally believe in. The Bible is just as much mythology as the Sagas, the Vedas, and the Kojiki. At the same time, Christianity, Asatru, Hinduism, and Shinto are all equally valid as religions.
