How are sniper or pilot kills confirmed in times of conflict?

>!I cannot speak on sniper kills, but Gunship kills were normally counted in one of 3 ways:!<
>!1.visual confirmation from on board recorders (video data etc)!<
>!2. members of a ground force going to the site of the strike and conducting a SSE or sensitive site exploitation.!<
>!3. Intelligence reports from either signal intelligence intercepts or word of mouth from informants.!<
>!These 3 numbers can and do vary wildly. in Afghanistan for example, intel reports especially from the afghan intelligence services would report anywhere from 2x-10x the amount of enemy casualties.!<
>!Generally method 2 is the most accurate but can also vary with the use of high explosive munitions causing mass amounts of debris, damage and vaporization of bodies. An example being the ground force found 4 weapons, 3 hands a mangled corpse.!<
