I have identical twins. Essentially, it has to do with the lining between the sacs as well as the placenta. Apparently in order to have identical twins, the fertilized egg has to split at the exact and most perfect moment. In addition to that, identical twins have to share one placenta. There are other factors involved (age and race usually), but that’s the easiest way to explain it.
