How can I buy US indices outside of market open

Hi everyone!

I recently got into investing in stocks and I’m starting out by buying indices.

My question is how can I buy iShares S&P500, Invesco NASDAQ100 etc (which are all US based) outside of US market open.

For example, as a U.K. resident, I can wake up at 9am and buy some S&P500 even though the US market is closed? How can these be priced despite the market being closed?

The trades are being conducted on electronic communications networks outside the major exchanges. Downside is that liquidity and price variance can be unpredictable.
