The have a very thin & flexible bone structure. We as humans have a pretty inflexible bone frame. When you squeeze through a narrow space you can tuck your arms in a bit and we have some flexebility with our hip/spine connection as well as our legs (duckung down). But your shoulders and hips are as wide as they are and also in terms of rotation range and ability to ‘fold in’ we are pretty limited (quite few people can’t even touch their toes without bending their legs).

A lot of what seems ‘big’ about a racoon is actually fur & fat which just gets smushed in when moving through anarrow space, plus their short legs & pretty flexible body structure allows them to curl up much better than we can as humans.

Hope that helps 🙂
