How can we zoom literally unlimited on vector graphics but it gets pixelated in rastor

I am trying to understand the process or logic behind unlimited zoom in vector and why is it missing from rastor

Raster is like: draw six white and one black dot on the first row, five white, one black, one white on the second row, etc, etc, etc.
Vector is more like: draw a diagonal line at 45degrees.

You can only get finite detail from the raster, whereas the vector instructions can be redrawn at any scale.
