How come learning things as a kid is/feels easier than learning them as an adult?

Think sports, language, riding a bike, learning an instrument etc.

It’s easier to paint on a blank canvas then to paint over something that’s already there.

Kid’s brains are like empty sponges, they soak up everything. But there is always a limit to how much data our brains can process and remember.

By the time your a fully grown adult, your mind needs to make room for new information. It’s not like a literal 1 for 1 trade. O I learned this but I forgot this.

It’s more like bringing in a new piece of furniture so you have to rearrange the whole room to make it fit. Rearranging that room is tough on your brain and that’s where the difficulty stems from.
