How come rocket launchers/rpg’s can only be fired once?

I saw video about rocket launchers like javelins and rpgs that said they can only be fired once, why so?

It depends on the model of RPG. Some are designed to be single use only, like the 66mm rocket, and others are designed to be multi-use like the RPG7V and the Carl Gustarv 84mm.

With the multi they are required to reload because you can only have a single rocket within the shoulder launcher because of weight and fire control issues

It depends, the launch tube is generally rather cheap in comparison to the rocket launched so you might as well have a new tube with each missile. The are some weapons like the RPG 7 where multiple rockets are fired from the same tube in part due to the rocket being cheap.

Single use weapon systems can be made from light materials like glass fiber, to bring the weight down. Single use LAW M72 weight around 3kg, where multiple use RPG-7 weights 8kg.
Firing an RPG or Anti-tank missile will give away shooters position easily due loud noise and smoke. So it’s nessessary to be able to discard weapon and relocate quickly.
Javelin is separate launcher/sighting system with anti-tank missile that’s in single use launching tube.
