In my opinion there are two types of brain chemistry people have. In one type, the more you drink, the less you want the next one because you’re feeling the effects of the previous ones and they are making you drowsy, slow to respond, tired, etc. in the other, the more you drink the more you want the next one. The latter is also called the alcoholic’s brain and if that’s the way your brain works please be careful, and if you can’t please one day join AA. I don’t want to offend, I just know a lot of recovering alcoholics and they are very good people but their brain chemistry and alcohol don’t work well together.
When you drink alcohol (or any kind of drug really) your brain releases dopamine, the pleasure hormone. Dopamine is also released when you’re having fun or having sugary food, for example, to tell you to do it again sometime.
But when you’re drunk, the brain is unable to function properly and releases way too much dopamine. This is why getting high on drugs again is so irresistible.
