From what I understand, he used a username that was linked to his verified email account so it was pretty easy to tie back to him. He used that same username everywhere too so it was even easier.

“The online comments were made between 2008 and 2012, long before Robinson stepped into politics, on Nude Africa, which has a message board. They were written under the username “minisoldr” which [CNN](https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/19/politics/kfile-mark-robinson-black-nazi-pro-slavery-porn-forum/index.html) matched to several biographical details as well as an email address.

Robinson also listed his full name on his Nude Africa profile, along with the email address that he used on several websites online for years.”

Sometimes, reading the news explains the news.

It was hilariously easy, and surprising it didn’t come out earlier. He had a couple known personal social media account under @minisoldr. He also made the posts on Nude Africa with the same name. As more confirmation, the profile associated with that account had his real name on it, plus an email known to belong to him.

People tend to be predictable and use the same account names and blab way too much. You just triangulate one point on the map to the others using those similarities.

He did stupid by using the same username and real information about himself. I don’t comment on porn sites but if I did, I certainly wouldn’t use my real information and I’d set up an email address just for that with no ties back to anything else.

Nothing was leaked per se. All of the information was publicly available. What they did was connect uniquely identifying public information mainly based on a username he used everywhere to link it all to him.

A combination of linking official emails to these accounts, some of which literally even used pictures of himself for the profile. Also used comments he made that match up to his timeline perfectly. He was married in ’90, and in ’08 posted a comment on a forum about how he had been married for 18 years, another in “11 about being married for 21 years.

Adding to what everyone else has said so far, as for how this got found, it’s most likely due to opposition research since it’s not illegal to find someone’s internet history. Even though the comments on the forum got deleted, they’re forever out there on the internet for people to see.

Have you read the actual article? It spells out exactly how they linked it, with screenshots. You should really just read the article.
