I am curious how stock markets worked before the advent of computers. Trading today is so fast, I can’t wrap my head around how it could have worked before computers were involved.

I would recommend you watch Scam 1992 series. It’s based on a true story of a famous Indian stock broker who made a fortune. They have shown exactly how it worked before computers by shouting. It was like a fish market.
