How did the diving bell spider come up with the idea to use bubbles to live underwater?

How did the diving bell spider come up with the idea to use bubbles to live underwater?
Is it something biological that gave it this ability or did they come up with it by chance one day?

It didn’t come up with an “idea” it evolved, the spider didn’t think about it at all. Spiders are hairy and air becomes trapped in the hairs, over time if useful this becomes more pronounced until it has enough of an air bubble to dive for a substantial period.
