How did the Gregorian calendar’s usage spread across the globe and not have inconsistencies in different areas from initial misinformation?

In the early days of the calendar how can we be so sure that written records like journal entries are correctly dated?

We probably can’t be sure – but generally saying following a calender is not that challenging of an task – especially if you live somewhere where they have one.

More importantly through different terrible processes we lost a lot of information – the church/governments burning books systematically, great librarys burning down. To be honest when we get our hands on old books that are in good condition – the date is the last interesting part about it.
