I saw that!!, it was during the last turn every driver braked “slowed down” but that driver was still maintaining a very high speed 100+ while everyone else was going down to 65 so yeah friction would slowed down but not drastically, he used the wall to keep is speed going and on the track, from 10th to 5th place and gain point to be in the championship and move on to the next round ( sorry wasn’t to scientific)
