how did those dollar store halloween glasses work.

Question

Title, the ones that were basically a full 3d image of some eyes or even a skulls.

I cannot wrap my head around it. The image moves like an actual hologram but I know it’s not actually there, what trickery made these work ?

If it’s what I’m thinking of, there are ridges in the glasses with at least two different images underneath them that are sliced up, so when you move the glasses at a certain angle your eyes are tricked into seeing that the object is moving, when it’s not.
