Ooooh I get to ramble on my passion project this year! I’m part of a small TCG (without the T bit, just playing for fun really) game that’s pretty niche. Its based off a creative group who originated that card game, but the group im in is doing the online version. I have the fun of playtesting the implementation of new cards and mechanics, alongside a whole bunch of people I now consider friends. Together with the main devs we kinda just swing with the cards and see if they’re fun and tweak like costs or abilities so that they feel fair. It is subjective but everyone who plays is free to voice their opinion and we ultimately leave it to the devs to choose which way to change things if needed. It does take quite some time cos we’re all doing this for free and fun, but I think its a decent model to the for-profits TCGs out there
