How do companies “plant a tree”?

Was just looking at Sitebulb and they say they plant a tree for each sign up. I am wondering how do companies do that? Are they partnered with some forest organizations and basically pay for a tree each time someone signs up? How does it work? 😀

Yeah basically partnership with organizations that do it. They’re usually charity-like and can plant a tree for cheap donations
