The most common way houseboats get electricity is to be plugged in when at dock. It’s basically like running an extension cord all the way to a regular outlet. Not exactly, but similar.

Or it could be a generator. Similar to the kind you might see when people go on a camping trip or in natural disaster relief situations.

Sometimes it’s a solar panel setup that charges a battery.

it’s all in there, you just need to find a place you can charge them up and empty your waste

the marina will decide how much to charge you to keep that cycle complete, you pick your place, pay the due and complete the cycle

If it’s done correctly exactly the same as a house on land and it will have services hook-ups at it’s dock that will connect it to the relevent electrical, water, sewage and coms networks through standard connections.
