Rods break all the time; when larger fish are caught or the fish pulls in a particular way.

We have lots of strong and bendable materials….like think of Olympic pole vaulters

Same thing with the line; lots of stings can take a pulling tension without breaking “; but if they have too hard a bend they’ll snap
