Say you grow a fruit that has a great trait. Maybe it is super sweet. Maybe it is super crisp. Maybe it has a beautiful color. Maybe it is extra juicy! Maybe it is disease resistant or stores well in long term storage or responds to a chemical a certain way. Pick two of these traits and cross pollinate or graft until you create a new variety that has two of those traits. Once in a blue moon, you get an amazing combo, including some that with the right imagination “taste” like something else.

A super sweet grape, like the other person says, might have a strong sugar taste like cotton candy, which is almost pure sugar.
