Pitch. Roll. Yaw. The rotary wing drives the power (the big blade) the rear (tail) rotar controls the counter rotation. By manipulating the power/speed of the counter rotation it can yaw left or right.

Turning of the helicopter is controlled by the rear rotor. Just like the main rotor the pitch of the blades is adjustable. Normally the rear rotor is just counteracting the spin induced by the main rotor. However when you spin the helicopter around your just increasing or decreasing the pitch of the rear rotors slightly.
